Eight rituals to stay cool.
Simple, science-backed ways to keep your body temperature down when the world outside is trying to raise it. Save this page. Share it.
- 01
Cool your pulse points
Wrist, neck, ankles, temples. A cold cloth (or a burst from your Ritual Fan) on these spots drops core temperature faster than fanning your whole body.
- 02
Hydrate before you're thirsty
Thirst is a lagging indicator. Drink water on a schedule, half your body weight in ounces on hot days, plus electrolytes if you're sweating.
- 03
Dress like the desert
Loose, light-colored, breathable natural fibers (linen, cotton, silk). Skip synthetics that trap heat and sweat.
- 04
Close the house at dawn
Shut windows and blackout curtains before the sun hits. Open again after sunset to flush warm air out.
- 05
Eat cold, eat light
Big meals raise your core temperature. Choose watermelon, cucumber, yogurt, cold noodles. Skip alcohol, it dehydrates fast.
- 06
Cool your bed, not your room
A damp sheet, a frozen water bottle at your feet, or breathable bedding beats blasting AC all night. Sleep temperature: 65°F.
- 07
Carry cool with you
The Ritual Fan lives in your bag for the moment between AC and AC, the platform, the sidewalk, the classroom, the checkout line.
- 08
Check on your people
Elderly neighbors, pregnant friends, kids, pets. Heat kills quietly. A text and a glass of water can save a life.
Carry a ritual in your pocket.
The Ritual Fan is small enough to forget you're carrying it, until you need it.
